Jesus Dagua, Yachak

“Dear brothers and sisters,

Today, I want to speak to you about Pacha Mama, the great mother earth who nourishes and sustains all life on this planet. From the smallest insects to the tallest trees, from the deepest oceans to the highest mountains, Pacha Mama provides us with everything we need to live and thrive.

As an Indigenous Yachak, I have been taught from a young age to honor and respect Pacha Mama. We believe that she is not just a physical entity, but also a spiritual one. We believe that everything in nature has a spirit, and that these spirits are connected to ach other and to us. Sadly, many of our modern western societies have lost touch with Pacha Mama and her spirits. We have become disconnected from nature, and we treat her as a commodity to be exploited for our own benefit. We have forgotten that we are not separate from nature, but a part of it.

But it is not too late to reconnect with Pacha Mama and her spirits. We can learn from the wisdom of our Indigenous ancestors, who lived in harmony with nature for thousands of years. We can start by recognizing that we are not the masters of the earth, but her humble servants. We can start by living more simply, consuming less, and wasting less. We can start by respecting the rights of all beings, human and non-human alike. When we honor and respect Pacha Mama, we are not only doing what is right, but also what is necessary for our survival. We cannot continue to exploit the earth.

So I urge you, my dear brothers and sisters, to take a moment to reflect on your relationship with Pacha Mama. Are you treating her with the respect and gratitude she deserves? Are you living in harmony with nature, or are you exploiting her for your own benefit? Remember that we are all interconnected and that every action we take has a ripple effect on the world around us.

Let us all strive to be better stewards of Pacha Mama and her spirits. Let us all work together to create a more just and sustainable world, where all beings can live in harmony and peace.

May the wisdom and blessings of Pacha Mama guide us on this journey.

Amen.”
